Why are Rover distances incorrect? This frustrates owners and affects booking score?

Hello My booking score is decreasing and owners are being let down and wasting their time as your mileages are incorrect. I offer dog walking and pop in visits within 3 miles of my home. In the last week I have had requests from people 4.5miles away but Rover says 2miles and 5.6 miles but Rover says 3 miles. Owners outside 3 miles on google maps are requesting me and Rover are allowing but I have to decline. I can walk or cycle to most walks or drop in visits making it time and cost effective. For example, If I had accepted the request today from Anthony to walk Bear I would spend 40mins travelling and travel 9 miles for a 30min walk. This is not cost or time effective for me and owners are left frustrated and disappointed. Which mapping system do you use? You seem to measure as the crow flies and not driving distances. Can this be improved? Thank you Karina

Hi Karina,

Unfortunately, Rover Customer Service staff do no visit this board. You need to contact them directly. I don't know exactly how your British site is set up, but in the US, if you go to the Help Center, there will be a Contact link at the bottom by which you can send a webmail message.

Regarding distances, I suspect it is as the crow flies.

As Karen commented the mileage is calculate as the crow flies so it doesn't take into account the actual driving miles.
