Is it alright to change price quote?

I underbid myself is it okay to change the price since they are out of my mileage location. The job isn't until the 27th of this month. Plus, the same client is going on a week vacation in May. I quoted only $25 for 6 hours on the 27th of this month this includes taking care of two dogs. I quoted only $50 a night for the week in May. I want to change the price from $25 to $35 for the 27th. From $50 to $70 for the week I stay in May. Is there a way to present this in a professional manner to the client? Or bit the bullet?

Did you know the client's location when you quoted your price? Has the client paid for both bookings?

If you knew the location, the number of dogs you'd care for, and especially if the booking process has already started on Rover, I'd suggest you honor the prices quoted. Otherwise, to increase it now may turn the client to other options.

My profile has a map and a note explaining that rates are higher for visits where bus service is not running or out of range.

I don't own a car, and am willing to walk about 10 minutes (one way) from a bus stop for the standard rate, but beyond that the increase is to cover Zipcar/Lyft/Uber.

However, I haven't raised my standard rate, and I have the same rate for holidays. Overall, a regular client saves money, and I don't have the cost of car ownership.

Additionally, during the initial message, I ask for their approximate address, and check it against bus schedules. However, I phrase it as, "so I can check my route".... so I can avoid the stigma of not owning a car for first impression.

Hi Maddie, I am currently in the same car-less situation but have just "bit the bullet" since I couldn't think outside the box. Do you find your price increase turns off potential clients? What percentage do you think? Thanks alot!
