Does Rover charge customers a fee for paying with credit card?

My five day a week customer just told me she gets charged additional fee from Rover for paying with credit card. Does anyone know this as fact? Since credit cards are the most common method of payment these days, I was very surprised. Especially since Rover takes 20% from our fee. Companies paying a merchant fee should just be the price for doing business.

Not only is credit card payment the most common form of payment, Barbara, it is pretty much all that Rover accepts. So I really doubt that Rover is slapping a fee on customers for that. I thought maybe your state had recently implemented a tax on services, similar to how many internet companies have to collect taxes, as now required by state law, but do not see anything about it when I searched.

In checking Rover's explanation of fees page:

https://support.rover.com/hc/en-us/ar...

I did notice that it has been changed and the part that was explicit about service fees (percentages) is gone and replaced by only the $25 cap information. It leads me to wonder if they have done something because that service fee is levied to cover "operating expenses" which would include transaction fees from credit card companies, Paypal, etc.

I think the best bet would be to call Rover Customer Support and ask. It would be greatly appreciated if you could report back the results here.
