Is this suspicious?

I received a message from a lady where she was requesting dog sitting services on behalf of someone else (her boss). She gave me her boss's email address and told me to say that she referenced me to the boss. I email the boss, and she gives this big email saying that she's moving from CA with her husband, wants me to buy stuff for her dogs and the kitchen, and wants to send me the keys to the house before she arrives (meaning she wants my address). I told her that I'd prefer to meet in person first before watching her pets, but I'm wondering if I should even do that... Is this spam? Has anyone seen this kind of thing before?
