Is it necessary to ask for a meet&greet if you're just doing drop-ins or walking?

I'm new to Rover and I don't exactly know how to best approach this situation with clients - Rover people suggest that you always request a meet and greet but I'm not sure if they were referring to dog boarders / house sitters specifically. I didn't think it would be necessary to have one for walks and drop-ins. Thoughts?
