How does Rover ensure our safety as sitters?

I have been unable to find an answer to this question. I know they do background checks on us but what about our safety when meeting strangers possibly at their homes? I am starting to get very nervous about this because I cannot any information about Rover making sure they are sending us sitters into safe situations. Maybe they believe our safety is our own responsibility.

You are correct you are responsible for your own safety, Rover is 100% out of the equation as there is nothing they are able to do to help you. Many sitter bring a family member or friend along for meet and greets. Many sitters won't travel into a bad area of the town and the list can go on and on.

I see you have your services set to away and your last review was in 2016, sort of odd you are asking this question unless you are thinking about starting up again. Best of luck.

This! Don't go anywhere you don't feel comfortable with, or bring a friend/family member along. Rover also mentions meeting in a dog-friendly public place with many people around, which is always a good option.

To add to that, I have a dash camera in my vehicle. When I go to meet a new client, not only do I tell a friend the address that I am going to but I also park so that my dash cam can record my visit. As soon as I am done and safely away from the place, I stop and message my friend to let them know.
