Are there recommended price guidelines for sitters to go by for their area?

I am wondering how a new River Service Provider determines what prices to set for the services he/she offers.

Some Rover sitters do a search on rover, from that get a general idea of what people are willing to pay in their area, and set their price at the lower end of the scale until they get business and verified reviews. Another way to research is to find out what some of the most popular other places charge, whether that's for boarding & day care or people that offer walks and drop-in visits.

It would be great if rover recommended a price guideline structure that was aligned with local service providers in the area. At this time, that doesn't exist.

@Deb new sitters get a rate recommendation during the profile approval process

@Walt. Yes, I realize that. Key words of emphasis (perhaps it would have read easier bolded) are "aligned with local service providers". As I've written in another Rover post, in my area, the rates rover suggests are far less than places with the least comparable service. Facilities cost much MORE$
