How do I manage travel when going from one client to another? For example, if walks are 30 minutes how am I expected to be at the next 30-minute client if they are farther away?

Howdy, I will be starting soon and wanted to get some feedback on time management. Feedback is welcomed.

I only take on clients that are within a 5 mile radius of my home. Travel adds up SO easily and it just isn't worth it for me to be spending so much time in my car; it will burn you out quick.

I always allow travel time in planning my daily visits so my day never contains more than 5-7 walks or drop-ins during the key walk times 11-2. As Sarah mentioned she has a small service area and so do I, but I didn't at first I set it at 10 milles and found I was driving all over town and spending more time in the car than walking, so I cut it back to 5 miles and then only accepted clients were in my defined area. Once you have a few weekly clients it will help you manage your day by setting a route of care that will help you save time. Best of luck

I also have a small radius and when I was setting up my regular midday walkers I planned them out geographically too and confirmed that the times were good with the owners. I have two puppies that I walk so they aren't as time flexible as older dogs. I also don't do more than 4 walks in that midday block. I might be able to squeeze in 5, but I don't want to be hurried and not give the dogs proper attention!
