If you are traveling in the winter months it's best to develop a contingency plan with your sitter of choice. Most sitters will do their darndest to get to your home, many may stay at the house, and some may offer to take your pet home with them, but for each sitter it can vary. Rover sitters are like postal workers, "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these sitters from the swift completion of their appointed rounds"
