Modify question?

I'm sitting for a client starting today at 11am. She originally booked me until Dec 1st, but she wants to change it to Friday (30th), but I will be there until noon.

This is housitting as I am there all day today and night (Wednesday )starting at 11 am, all day Thursday and that night, and until 12 noon Friday.

Do I leave it as is so I am paid for those few hours on Friday or what? I don't want to be short changed.

Thanks

Karen's advice is on point! It's best to calculate based on the start and end times. If you start at 11 am, the end time would be 11 am. Most of us give some small grace period time & 1 hour definitely is within that definition. So, ending at noon Friday rather than 11 am is not extra time. Then you simply calculate the number of nights. In your situation, that's Wed. & Thurs. If 2 days were booked, it doesn't have to be modified.

However, if she booked until Sat. 12/1 and wanted to change it to Fri. 11/ 30,, you could let your cancellation policy determine if this booking even should be modified (meaning you may elect not to modify it). With your Moderate policy, If she's requesting this change after 12:00 noon the day before the stay began, she would only be entitled to 50% refund from rover for that day (12/1) booked and cancelled. Although exceptions to policy can be authorized, the reason for the cancellation policy is that it tied up your calendar and you may have lost out watching someone else's dog that day.

How many "nights" are on the original booking? If 3, then you need to modify to reflect the earlier end time.

Since you are starting at 11 am (28th) and leaving on the final day (30th) at 12 noon, the client would pay for 2 nights of house sitting. Each "night" is typically good for up to 24 hours of care. One extra hour is not a big deal.

Two nights and full day Wednesday, Thursday and until noon on Friday.

11Am Wednesday until 11AM Thursday would be ONE NIGHT of house sitting. 11AM Thursday until noon Friday would be also ONE NIGHT of house sitting. Just as Karen says, it's 2 nights of house-sitting.
