What can I do about a flea infested dog?

My client brought over a flea infested dog, which I tried to bathe, but it was really difficult (Alaskan Mal). Now my dogs all have fleas and I spent all weekend cleaning and bathing dogs. The dog also had terrible separation anxiety and the crate the owners brought was too small for her. She wouldn’t sleep in the crate (howled for 1.5 hours) and the only way she would sleep was in my bed.

I kept the owners informed of everything that was going on. I took the dog hiking and for walks on the beach, nothing tired her out or calmed her down. At the meet and greet they assured me that she was crate trained and loved her kennel.

Is there any restitution for this?

Dealing with flea infestation is a royal pain in the butt, sorry you are going through this ordeal. You need to treat all the dogs and treat your home as soon as possible and daily until resolved. Many sitters have extra crates available as situation arise, and the dog is suffering a little from separation anxiety since she is in a strange place, typically this dissipates in time. Again sorry you are dealing with this situation and best of luck.
