How do I respectfully and thoughtfully extend sympathy for a customer's dog who is dying?

Lovely customer has 11 year old Goldendoodle that was just diagnosed with a brain tumor and lung polyps. It is fatal. This is a first for me. How can I show my support for this wonderful family? What is proper etiquette?

When one of my clients passed away I found a really nice photo of the pup and had it framed nicely if the pet has already passed. When my pup passed away last year I really appreciated any and all photos people shared with me.

But otherwise a small gift of their favorite things, maybe a favorite toy or treat so they can really enjoy their time.

the owner will appreciate any love and support you provide as you are showing them you truly love their pet and feel their pain.

All you can do is share your concern and sympathy for your client and be there to support them when the dog eventually passes. Many folks will make a donation in the clients/dogs name with a local animal shelter or rescue group.
