I asked a previously asked a question about remaining a Rover sitter after a client’s dog passed after an accident. Should I send condolences of some kind? I think of them constantly and how they are doing.. I am afraid of doing anything inappropriate.
I would make a donation to a local animal rescue and they should send a donation card in your name to the owner, that in my opinion is a better option than reaching out to them directly. Best of luck

As a dog owner if this happened to my dog I don't think I would want to hear from you again.
I would try to be understanding and I wouldn't try to hurt your business because accidents happen, but I would also most likely want to cut all ties with you.
Everyone is different though so idk if there is a right or wrong answer here.
I have been feeling to just let them reach out to me if they ever want to again. It’s just been on my mind, and I had to just get it out. Thanks for your response.
