Why do I always get requests a few miles beyond my service area?

How do Rover calculate the distance between a client's home and mine? I wonder if there is a glitch. For examples, Rover said 8 miles but when I checked google map, it is 12 miles i.e. it is 8 miles difference for a round trip. Any suggestions for dealing with this?

Typically the service area is calculated by the way the crow flies or in a straight line from you house, but even with that said it isn't 100% accurate. Driving to clients location is a just a fact of life for all pet sitters, when I first started out and my calendar filled I was driving more than 50 miles a day between clients. Best of luck
