Whose Liable?

God-forbid a dog under a Rover pet/home sitters care bit them (for any reason even if its never bitten anyone or ever showed aggression). Whether its barely a bite or serious enough is there any protection for: 1) the owner (if all steps were taken for warning/prepping sitter) What constitutes properly warning/prepping? 2) the sitter (to have medical needs taken care of). Who is liable to cover medical fees to sitter? Is owner responsible/ in trouble for the bite? Can dog be penalized for the bite? Does rover get involved in any way?

You have asked several questions so I'll try to answer many of them

"Who is liable to cover medical fees to sitter?" Personal injury to the sitter is not covered by the Rover guarantee so their personal health insurance would have to cover it.

"Can dog be penalized for the bite?" All bites should be reported to the local authorities, animal control and or the police. After a hearing disposition will be made about the dog.

"Does rover get involved in any way?" The Rover Trust and Safety team should be notified of any incident, their involvement will be determined by the specific incident.

"is there any protection for: the owner" Owners are potentially liable for any action taken by their dog, the Rover guarantee will not help.
