What to do if owner wants shorter walk?

Some of my clients want shorter walks that are less than 30 minutes for their dogs or to just go out for a potty break. I offer to spend the rest of the time inside, but they aren't really interested in that. How do you all handle that?

Many clients only want a 15-minute drop-in or walk, so what do you do?? You accommodate them, you may lower your visit rate, and you can always close the event in the App early, sure it gives you a warming, but it's not a big deal.

Many independent sitters/walkers offer a 15-minute visit and they price it a little lower than the 30=minute visit - if you think hard about it you can make more per hour with shorter visits. Wish Rover would offer this option!

I've had clients that were fine with a less than 30min visit, as long their pets got to potty and I checked their water bowls they were fine with me leaving early. I wouldn't offer to discount it unless they ask for one, mainly because whether it's 30 mins or 5 minutes or 3 hours, you're still spending the same amount of time to get to their house and back.

If the owner really is not interested in you spending more time with their dog, There really is not much more you can do. I would give the owner different option as far as playing with the dog inside, feeding, cleaning up the dogs area, but You don't want to come off push. (especially if they already declined you staying the full 30 mins) As far as charges, even though the owner may only want less time, I still charge them for the 30mins. I personally fell that if you start dropping your prices or offering a discount it opens you up to clients always expecting or wanting a discount. (I would try to stretch my time as close to the 30 mins possible without overdoing it. When you get back to the house with the dog after a walk- checking between his toes for foxtails, wiping his paws, Refill his water bowl, if needed. The little things we don't always think of. )
