How long should it take for a sitter to respond to boarding request?

Placed request 48 hours ago and haven’t heard back

Comments

I am a sitter and I would like to know how I can edit my response time on Rover. Currently is says "immediately". But sometimes, I might not hear my notification or I might not have my phone with me. I see that other sitters show their response time as "Within an hour" or "Within a 1/2 hour".

Sitters should respond within 24 hours after you send them a request, most respond very quickly

Majority of people respond right away, but it's possible the sitter isn't interested and didn't care to respond or was too busy to respond or maybe even broke her phone. If you feel you do not wish to wait any longer, you should try a different sitter. Good luck.

That would be a RED flag. As an owner/requestor, I would wonder how they would care for my loved one. As a sitter, i would respond almost ASAP to keep the trust going for a possible client. 48 hours?

I respond immediately. I put myself in the client's shoes. If I reached out to a sitter, what customer service would I expect? I would expect to hear back within an hour! I am reasonable however and understand sitters are busy people! However, if 24 hours have gone by and I have not heard back, my trust level for that sitter would decrease plus that is a red flag. Too busy to send a response; then makes me wonder how that sitter will have time to provide quality care for my pet.
