if im boarding a dog in my house, and the pick-up time exceeds the drop-off by 6 hours, should i charge more than a regular boarding service?

drop-off is at 11a.m. and pick-up is at 5:30p.m. the next day.

You should charge more but only as long as you tell the owners in advance. (At the meet and greet)

If the owners messaged you and said that they are not going to be able to pick up until later, you can still mention it at that point. Telling them sure no problem, Rover charges are based off 24 hour period, so what I will do is just add him in for Doggie day care and this way there no rush and you can pick him up at 5:30pm. Just make sure to approve the request when it comes through. (Than make sure to put the request right through so they get both messages one right after the other.)

thank you, sounds good. i mentioned it in my meet and greet reply. and i will mention it when we do meet. ofcourse i wont surprise the client with it last second. but honestly i didnt know if it was appropriate to charge more or not. so thank you for clearing that up

At the meet and greet I tell them, Boarding rate is for 24 hrs if they're going to be a whole lot later then to book an additional day care session. If its just a couple of hours ill let it go, but a whole other day is a bit too much, this is explained at meet and greet. nobody has a problem.

Did you tell the client at booking that there would be an additional charge for the overtime? It is far easier to adjust the invoice before the client has paid, but you can always use the extend the stay feature or just book them another service, like daycare for the overtime. 6 hours over would incur an additional charge for me. I do give them a couple of hours leeway but 6 hours is too much.

Always try to get this stuff nailed down before the stay begins. Let the client know that one night of boarding is only good for up to 24 hours of care. Since you do offer daycare, then you would put on a charge for daycare in addition to the night of boarding. Easy peasy.

i told them i would like to discuss additional charges in our meet and greet. thank you for letting me know i can adjust charges before booking. i just checked that out. exactly, i usually dont mind a few extra hours, but exactly 6hours is an entire day. and i didnt know how to address it. thankyou
