Why havent i gotten any requests yet?

I have been on rover for 2 weeks or more and i still haven't gotten any requests. I have business cards to hand out, and my prices are reasonable, yet still nothing. I am only offering dog walking and drop in visits, due to still living at home and having my dog. Is there anything else I can do to get requests?

It took me about 2 months to get my first booking. At first, I had only signed on to do drop in visits and dog walking. I was getting restless so I added boarding. I also signed up to work on Thanksgiving, and that's when i got my first booking. I'm not sure how many services you offer now, but If you add more, that definitely helps. You can always block it out if it gets to be too much. After boarding for a while, I got great reviews and then started getting drop in visits. Currently, I don't do boarding. However, if I hadn't signed on in the beginning, it probably would have taken me longer to get the first booking. Also, I highly recommend buying a Rover sticker for your car. It will get the word out where you live to people who may not know about Rover. Also, keep your rates low in the beginning. Many people go for the cheapest rates. Hang in there!

When I began 6 months ago, I actually charged about 25% under what other sitters in my area charged so that I could accumulate clients. Clients jumped on my lower rates and I was busy from the start. I went out of my way to ensure I received 5-star reviews because owners really do read them. Then, one client told me I should raise my rates for the area I serve. When I did, I suffered no loss of clients since I already had good reviews and repeat clients who were already comfortable with me. I think that's the formula for getting started.

Patience is the key as for many it takes time to acquire clients, a lot depends on where you live and how much penetration Rover has made in the area. I see you live near Manchester NH, and that is a mid-size city so there is a good probability of owners looking for pet care services. However, when I searched your area for walkers I found quite a few but most had only a few reviews, that tell me Rover hasn't yet caught on that much yet.

What can you do? I would change out your background picture as a fuzzy sun in trees is not that appealing, and also add more pictures of dogs, you with dogs, and more dogs. I would look to join local area Facebook groups that will allow you to post your services and availability. Go old school and post tear-off flyers on local bulletin boards in libraries, Starbucks, pet stores, vets and more.

Don't get discouraged and hang in there, it took me 3 months to get my first client, but ever since I've been busy
