Dog sitter's very pregnant. What happens if she cancels and has to go to the hospital while we are out of town?

My dog sitter has met with our dog and is ready for me to book her for a 2 1/2 week stay at our house. What if the dog sitter has to stop watching our dog and go to the hospital while we are away? What happens with the fee? What happens to our dog?

Have you discussed with the sitter? Do you actually know her due date? "Very pregnant" doesn't mean anything. One either is pregnant or is not. There are no degrees of pregnancy. What matters is her due date, which you can't tell by looking at anyone.

If you really like the sitter, then ask her about the due date and if she has plans. Having a friend or family member take over is NOT acceptable if they're not registered on Rover. Rover will always provide a replacement so your dog is taken care of, as others have said, but the timing could be an issue.

I would suggest asking your dog sitter what her plan is if she goes into labor during her stay - perhaps she has a partner or family member she's planning to pass it off to, in which case you can ask to meet them as well. If she has no plans, Rover does offer a guarantee that if the sitter you booked with is unable to continue the booking for any reason, Rover will facilitate finding and hiring another sitter for you.

While I like Carly's answer I'd be looking for another sitter with no disrespect to the current sitter

Rover will find you a new sitter. But why do you want to complicate this by hiring a sitter who may have a baby any minute? No, this is not discrimination at all, just trying to understand why complicate it this much.
