I've been bitten; what should I do?

I've been bitten by a pitbull puppy that I'm sitting. He did not break the skin and I am not bleeding, but the skin has welted/ has started swelling. What do I do?

Getting nipped or even bitter just goes with the job. When that happens make sure to wash and clean the area well. You can also apply an over the counter antiseptic. I like to use Witch Hazel as it is an antiseptic and doesn't sting. I suggest you also learn some training techniques to train the puppy not to nip/bite during play so you reinforce positive proper play.
