Is this request a scam?

I just got a request from a Miami-based profile for a four month house sitin DC (where I live). The profile was created today and is completely empty... only a dog name, breed, and age. He gave me an email (middleton.katherine@mail.com) and a phone number that led to a telemarketing service to contact him. I did not respond because I didn't see it right away.

12 minutes later I get a second message, so I saw both at the same time. He thanked me for my reply and told me he was glad to have me sit for his dog. He then said he will be saying at [actual DC address] and wanted to know how far it was from me and how I "operate my services".

Has this happened to anyone else? I've been reading other questions and see there is likely scam from CraigsList or through email, but nothing about an actual Rover message. I reported it to Rover as well.

Yes this is a scam. I have been getting numerous messages lately that appear to be suspicious. The accounts were recently created, lacked pictures and contacted me late at night. They wanted to know my address. Everyone be careful!!

I reported it yesterday, but figured I'd post here too in case they didn't answer. Support confirmed it was, and then sent out an email as it looked like other people also received the same request.
