Should I refund money because of bad weather?

This hasn't happened yet but I have a feeling it will so I just wanted an opinion just in case it does happen. I have an owner who booked 3 days this week for doggy day care and I've already watched her 2/3 of the days. I'm supposed to watch her again tomorrow however we were just hit with a snow storm that is already at least 3 inches. I have a feeling that she won't be able to bring her dog due to the weather which is fine and completely understandable. Should I refund her? My heart says yes because the weather isn't her fault.

Doggie Day Care is actually set up as being marked flexible for all sitters. So a full refund is available if the client cancels before the beginning of the service. (Just an FYI) Just in case you were thinking it would be easier to just have the credit between you and the client, the problem with doing it like this, is that the pet is not protected under Rovers insurance. You want to make sure that when the dog is in your care that they days are reserved through Rovers site and also paid for, otherwise if something happens you will not have the coverage.
As far as offering a credit for the clients next stay, you still want to make sure you contact Rover and let them know to either credit the client back on her credit card or credit her rover account.

I'm sorry but that's incorrect. As long as there is a booking the client would be covered by the insurance, no matter the cost of that booking. What I mean by a 'credit' is that you go into the one time edit feature and discount the cost of one visit. The actual visit # would stay the same.

Sorry but I was not talking about what you choose to charge the client. Yes, the client would be covered by insurance no matter the cost of the booking as long as everything goes through rover. Which was kind of my point- to make sure Reservations w/correct dates are reflected through Rover.

and just an fyi, through the "one time edit fee" you can not discount a client to $0

Yes, that's a good point, to make sure the booking with the credit on it goes thru Rover. Minimum booking does have to be at least a dollar, but if she's only crediting one visit from the next week's booking price it should total out to be over a dollar. All things to consider! :)
