When you house board a dog, is the owner expected to bring food and dog bed or is the sitter supposed to provide?

Owners should provide food for their dog during the stay with you. Why risk digestive issues with a food change. As far as bedding that's up to the sitter and owner o discuss, some sitters don't want extra items brought to their home and have items for their clients to use.

Agreed. We have plenty of extra beds, and limiting things that smell like home helps limit any territorial behavior.

That’s an interesting thought. I hadn’t thought about home items making them territorial.

Food I ask the owner to bring their pets food and I have extra beds for the dogs. However, I do normally ask the owners to bring their pets bed or blanket , something that smells like home . This gives the dogs a little comfort zone that smells like home. The only thing to be careful with is if you are watching multiple dogs you do not want them to start guarding their own beds or for the other dogs to pee on the beds. (Its a thin line that you have to be careful with, you want the dogs happy and comfortable while they are with you. At the same time you need to make sure you are watching the dogs and their behaviors so you are to take action before the other dogs have a chance to.)
