My cat was prescribed an OTC medication. The sitter stopped giving it to her two days ago without consulting me. What would you do?

My cat was prescribed an OTC medication for constipation (petroleum jelly). The sitter stopped giving it to her without telling me or consulting me. Today she informed me that my cat had hard, dry poop again. So I questioned the sitter and asked how much of the medication she had administered to my cat. The sitter then "confessed" she hadn't given it for two full days because my cat didn't like it. I informed the sitter that the medication has to be given and gave her three suggestions on how to make it more pleasant for my cat.

I'm still out of town and don't expect to walk through my front door until almost midnight this Wednesday.

What would you suggest I do in this scenario?

I'd contact Rover support [Edit: Rover’s contact options have changed. Visit the Rover Help Center at https://support.rover.com/ to find the phone number, help articles, or chat with the team] and let them know you're not happy. They'll discuss options with you. One of those possibilities may be transferring the stay to a sitter that will comply with your requests - although with only approx. 36 hours remaining, you may not want to do that. They may help facilitate a conversation with the sitter to resolve such issues. Of course, after the stay ends, Rover will send a review, which will be posted for other pet parents to read good&bad comments.
