What do I do with this dog peeing puddles in my home all day long?

I have a 5 month old dog that is literally peeing puddles inside my home as he walks, and walks into it, especially in his crate. He will go so many times within the hour, even after being outside for so long. His owners say that he does not potty indoors and has once during the snowstorm peed indoors and so this might confuse him. Help, I am trying to train this poor pup but cannot clean up pee and poop every 10 minutes.

It's a puppy. Unfortunately you are dealing with potty training. Don't expect him to hold it as long as a dog. Some puppies take up to a year to train. Take the pup out every 20 minutes, when they potty reward with GOOD BOY/Girl and give reward. If they are peeing every 10 minutes then they might have a urinary track infection and need a vet visit. Keep them confined to an area that is easy to clean, like a kitchen. News paper, pee pads. Potty training is a bummer, good luck

A belly band on a puppy is not a good idea. .

Disposable Male Wraps (you can find at Walmart, PetSmart, etc) Confine in small area - Should be in a crate when not supervised and nap time!

It sounds like you have been in contact with the owners about the situation, so I would suggest to them that you would like him to wear a belly-band while he is in your care to prevent the ongoing accidents. With their permission, this will prevent him from peeing in your home.

I’d like to have an answer for our situation.

I often see answers of “make sure to let the dogs out enough, for a long enough duration“, but we usually let the dogs out in the backyard, or take them for a walk, every couple of hours, and at least 20 minutes each. PLENTY of time for them to empty their bladders.

Yet males AND females, always come back in the house and pee. Several spots, throughout the day. It’s causing lots of tension in the house and stress.

I understand that the OCCASIONAL dog will pee as it’s a new place. Usually once. Maybe twice.

But dogs we have watched several times before, will pee all the time, everywhere.

We are very caring and loving. We do not yell at them. We don’t do anything that scares them.

We clean old pee spots up with enzyme remover and they still smell the old spots, as well as create new spots.

We don’t want to stop pet-sitting. As we need the income and we love animals. But this makes absolutely no sense to us that we let them out plenty, and they are familiar with our house, especially if they are repeat clients, yet they still Pee everywhere. Sometimes, the more we watch them, the more it seems they pee.
