What does everyone include in there overnight stay booking?

I have a client that is booking me for a week as a house sitter. In his words, I am to use his house as my base of operations meaning I sleep there and when I'm not at work, school or need a breather he would like me there with his dog. Completly understandable. Anyways, It is the first time using the house sitting service for the both of us and he was asking me sorts of questions like. "Are the Dog Walks included or would I need to book you for that" and other whats included questions. I told him that Since I am just started out on the app I have yet to establish any of that but Dog walks, feeding, baths, anything his dog needs I will do includes the overnight stay. I don't plan to do so but does anyone charge per walk that is needed during your housesitting day?.

Generally anything that the dog normally does in their daily routine is included in the house sitting cost with no extra dog walkings that need to be added. The only thing I would add is if owners request a bath or nail clipping, something extra like that, then I would maybe add that into the price. But general dog walking, feeding, even bringing mail in or watering plants is typically included in the house sitting. Every sitter is different though, some may want to charge for walks so you really are in full control of what you choose to do. Just make sure that the services you offer are laid out in your profile and you set your prices accordingly.

Personally I stopped doing house sitting just because I was having issues with owners or weird stuff would happen. When I did do in home boarding, I would include their walks, bringing in mail, plant watering, and overall security checks of the home. I would be very up front of what the expectations are and do not make them assume anything is either involved or not involved. Ask them what their expectations are, and you can charge extra for different stuff. Also please be advised, they are not required to feed you or give you food if you are staying in their home. Like the person above stated make sure the description is clearly laid out in your profile, and make sure you guys are on the same page.

Can you share some of your experiences that turned you off from sitting in their homes? Wondering as I only offer services outside of my home, I cannot do services in my own home. Thanks!!

I've been doing house sitting for three years, and I do not include bathing or grooming in my regular charge. I do provide activity and walks for the dog at no additional charge. Basically my rate includes all care for the animal(s) during the stay period (feeding, walking, medications, litter box maintenance for cats, etc). I also water plants, bring in the mail, turn on pool equipment, turn lights on and off, and whatever other small chores we agree upon. I also move into the client home and come and go from there. It's best to have a long discussion with the client to set expectations of what they want you to do while you are sitting.
