How do taxes work for Rover income in Canada?

I'm in Canada, and the tax information on the Rover site seems only relevant to the US. I see no mention of HST deductions so I'm a little confused. Does anyone have any information on whether HST should be charged on dog boarding services? Help!

Hi! Did you find out how to do this? I am wondering too. Thanks!

Rover does not charge clients HST, but dog boarding is a HST chargeable service. Of the payment you received thru Rover, you need to set aside 13% as HST collected and report to CRA. That said, if your business does not make over $30,000 a year in revenue, you don't have to charge/remit HST, though you still have to report it as business income.

You can still choose to open a GST/HST account, which will let you claim Input Tax Credit for the HST amount you paid on purchases and expenses related to your commercial activities.

You should really consult a tax professional. Rover isn't charging or collecting any sales taxes for services booked through its site. That doesn't mean you aren't liable though since I've seen on Canadian dog walking sites that HST is added for all services.
