Every sitter is an independent contractor and not an employee of Rover, hence the lack of bonding. Also, each sitter determines how they'll fulfill a sitting job at your home. Many will have other pet-related commitments (walks, drop-in visits, etc.) and will come and go, using your home as a base. Some may even have a full-time job but will make sure that they return to give your pet its needed care. You need to interview potential sitters to find out how they will perform the job's requirements. If you need the sitter to be in your home 24/7, then you should expect to have to pay a premium.
Per Rover, house-sitting is for up to 24 hours of care, which should include the basics of feeding, walking, etc.
