Has anyone ever brung their kids along with them when they dog sit? I'm new to http://Rover.com and I'm a single parent. So I'm wondering if anyone has done this and how the experience has been.

I don't have kids. but I'd caution you to really ask a lot of questions about the dog's preferences. After that conversation, if you still want to do that, bring the kids to meet the dog before booking. Dogs can be reactive to strangers and children, especially those who enter their home while their human family is away. Basically, Rover insurance will not cover any harm that may come to you or your children in that scenario. Months ago, a sitter wrote about taking her children with her to care for the dog at its' home and something bad happened (I just can't recall the extent of it).

The subject of children (or anyone other than the Rover sitter) coming to the client home should be brought up and agreed upon at the M&G. It all depends on the client and what they are comfortable with. As Deb says, Rover insurance will not cover the other person or any damage or injury to them.

I personally would not recommend it. As a potential owner, I would not want anyone other than the Rover sitter in my home - too many chances for accidents to happen.

Hi! I actually take my children with me on most of my visits. I do not take them to the Meet and Greet however. I always make sure it is okay with the clients BEFORE I take them. I have also put it in our profile that my children will come with me most of the time. I have not had to turn down any clients yet because of taking my children. Like I said, just make sure with the client first before you bring the children, and see at the meet and greet if you think the dog's temperament will be fine with your children. I hope this helps!
