Rover charges by the Nights but it should really be by the day?

So I'm new to this. I'm learning you need to ask your questions up front and all of them. I was hired to house to the dogs from Friday to Monday, Rover charged the client for 3 nights. The problem is It started at 1pm on Friday and doesn't end up 7pm on Monday. I can't go back and as the client for the money but I have another house sitting job that I secured that is upcoming and the same thing is going to happen to me. These are long days. Do I need to speak to the client and custom charge the client? Can I go back into the system even though I have already accepted this new upcoming? It's not for several weeks so I have time.

I understand house stays are based on 24 hours so I am not sure how to charge for the overage of time.

Hi Este!

Normally I ask first how long the client expects me to stay at the house. If they ask me to get there on a Friday morning and leave on a Sunday night, I normally explain to them that Rover charges by the night instead of by the day, and I ask if I can tack on to the cost. I have never had anyone complain so far. I do agree Rover should charge by the day, but for now, I would just suggest always asking up front and explaining the payment system.

I see you are a new sitter on Rover and welcome. Rate adjustments for additional time should take place during the initial conversation and meet and greet with the client so there won't be any surprises or the need for further contact to ask for additional fees. You can reach out to your client and ask for 1/2 of your rate and then use the extend the booking feature to add it, but if it were me I would just suck it up as a learninng experience.
