Weirdest dog walking request?

The other day I got the weirdest request (that I didn't see til the next morning). Some grad student wanted me to walk their dog. No big deal, pretty standard. Except for the part where she wanted me to come over and do it now while she was studying... at 1230am.

Once I realized what she wanted I wanted to say "sorry lady, you are literally home at 1230am with your dog, take a break and go outside with your dog."

Anyone else get some really strange requests?

I have a client who gets busy and has asked me to walk her dog when she is home. Not at 12:30 AM though.

Hi, Shannon!

These requests aren't common, but as a graduate student myself, it isn't always feasible to take a break in the middle of studying. I certainly wouldn't be meeting a stranger at 12:30am to walk their dog, but I have certainly done several walks where the owner felt bad that their dog wasn't getting enough exercise while they were working from home, studying, supervising house repairs, etc.

But like I said, at that time of night, I wouldn't expect anyone to come walk my dog for me (or be awake to receive the request).

Grad school can be very tough. I'm grateful that she cares enough about her dog to hire someone to walk him. Even though she's there with him, she's busy so it is completely understandable. It is an odd hour to walk your dog, but you can't blame her for trying someone to do it. It is strange that she'd expect you to come over at 12:30 in the morning without a meet and greet, though. I'd at least like to meet during normal hours first.
