What to charge for half a day of house sitting??

A client wants to me to come house sit for just in the evening for 5 hours. It is during the holidays so it is charging her my holiday rate of $50 a night but since it's only for a few hours I am not sure how much to charge this client.

It is a puppy who just got surgery and will still have the cone on her head while I am there. I also need to make sure she doesn't mess with her stitches! I would love to hear from anyone about how they deal with housing sitting for a few hours?

You can always modify the stay request amount based on our clients needs! This can be done in the stay details under modify request! There you can adjust amounts and the stay price :)

Puppy holiday rate pricing is challenging.

To decide on the rate, you may need to consider a couple things: How much time will it take round trip to travel to&from the puppy's home? Is the puppy's house is close enough that you could be away from other dogs you may board, walk or visit without turning down longer or repeat work? If yes, you may be inclined to give them a deal by entering a negative cost adjustment.

After seeing your day care rate is $25, I'd suggest maybe $25 is fair because even though it's less hours than usual day care, it is still house sitting for a puppy over the holiday post surgery and that is extra work. Adjusting that + $5-15 due to the situation would also seem fair. If you'd lose other business, it may be worth turning down or just sticking to the holiday rate of $50.
