I am a full time student and have certain regulations regarding my health insurance. How does getting paid through Rover effect my taxes?

I know i gain 80% of what the family pays. Does the money i get paid taxed?

Hi Brittany, welcome to Rover and best of luck. You are paid 80% of your rate per booking. your earnings are not taxed. As an independent contractor, you are required to report all the income earned each year. Your earnings are tracked here: https://www.rover.com/account/payments/

To clarify, Rover does not withhold taxes on your earnings. However, you will still have to file an income tax return (Schedule C) and your earnings may be subject to tax if your income from all sources after the standard deduction is above a certain level. Rover earnings do count toward taxable income.
