How can I keep belly bands on the dog?

Alright, I have heard a lot of responses from those who swear belly bands save their carpets. I decided to check it out since my new client is a male dog who likes to pee everywhere despite constant trips out and walking a lot. This dog is a Houdini and can maneuver the band off and I am constantly fighting to keep it on. It has saved my floors a lot with the few times I have been able to keep it on...but any suggestions on keeping the dog from twisting out of it? I really want this to work out!

I have a 17 year old dachshund who is incontinent sometimes but especially at night. i found a product online called Happy Jack Dog Diapers. It wraps around the belly with velcro closure but it also has a strap that snaps around the dog's neck. It is kind of like a harness. The band is made out of felt and is washable. It works great! My dog is not able to wiggle out of the wrap! It stays in place perfectly even all thru the night! She makes them in various sizes. I use male incontinence pads with adhesive and it all works great!! http://www.bestdogdiapers.com or Google Happy Jack Dog Diapers.

Kristen - there are many variations of belly bands for pups, how you secure them on a pup depends on that brand in many cases. And also what breed of dog you are trying to diaper plays into it. I know many sitters who keep a variation on hand to handle marking situations. Marking or peeing at a sitters home is fairly common dog behavior even though the owners says the dog is house trained; when placed in new environments the natural inclination is to mark their territory.

Is there a particular brand that is better (or stays on better than others)?

I use vet wraps used on horses legs to keep bandages on. I had a customer bring a belly band for her Lakeland Terrier. It "belted" with velcro closure and worked great. I Loved that it was adjustable for any size pup.
