When should I raise my prices?

I am just getting started on Rover but have been booking clients left and right. I want to raise my rate on my profile after a certain date (July 8) but I do not know if that will affect clients I have already booked, or clients I plan on booking before I raise the rate. What should I do?

I started out in January and listed my boarding at $30 which seems to be the most popular rate in our area. Daycare ranges a lot so I just chose $24 and I put my walks at $10. I told myself that when I get 10 different customers per category that is when I will raise my rates by 15% to get the amount of money I actually want before rover fees are taken out.

I just raised my walking fees by $2 and I will do the same thing after I get 3 more new boarding visiters ($6 increase) and after 5 more new daycare visitors ($5 increase).

Karen's advice is right on. You may want to consider making the change effective June 30, as I see that most sitters in your area are priced well above you and if your area is anything like mine - demand rises steeply for the 4th of July holiday week. You also may consider if you want to change your holiday rate (which covers July 3-5).

If clients have booked with you, they have already paid Rover and your rate change won't affect them. Only future (unpaid) jobs will have the new rate.
