Help! How do I get gum off a dogs paws/pads?

Just had a pup dropped off. Took her for a walk and she must have stepped in gum. I got the bulk of it out. But there is some still stuck in there and she has been licking at it like crazy and it seems to be bothering her. She is here for the day and I want to get this off her pads before she gets picked up by her owners. Any ideas??
