I had a meet and greet that is not going to work for my house . how do I decline the boarding?

I would contact the owner through Rover, let them know why you feel that the dog is not good for your home and/or pet sitting setup, and then archive their request using "dog was not a good fit" or "owner was not a good fit" or whatever best fits the situation.

I haven't refused a booking yet at a meet, but be up front while they are there. ex - i see your senior dog is having trouble going up steps here, I see your dog is not responding to my commands and avoiding me. I also avoid last minute bookings with a new client. I look for clients that care enough about their dog to look in advance for a sitter, and do a short stay booking at first before a long booking request. I just turned down a last minute booking for a 12 day stay with a dog I didn't know to avoid a long stay that could be a 12 day disas ter.

I agree with Suzanne...tell them at meet. If they still send you confirmation, decline and repeat what you discussed at meet.

I've had to do that a few times. The times that the owner started to insist let me know that I REALLY shouldn't watch the dog. Most are respectful and understanding. If you don't say anything at meet, that really isn't fair or kind to owner. They need to know asap to find an alternative.
