reimbursement for non essentials?

How would I go about asking an owner to reimburse me for belly bands (male wraps) for dog? It was a last minute booking and I was never informed he had issues with accidents. I even asked if he had issues after he was here for a day and she said sometimes but not usually. He has been on several walks and has multiple trips outside. Yet seems due to his age, he lets out a little pee on the couch, rug or where ever he may be. He has even just straight up peed on the floor after just being out side and using the bathroom. I spent over $20 on the wraps and would like to be paid for them as my dogs do not use them. How should I got about asking?

Just politely ask. "Hi Susan! I enjoyed Fido's stay with me and we've been a some relaxing walks. However that "sometimes" you mentioned about him using the bathroom inside? Well he's been doing it all time. I purchased some materials that will help my items from being soiled. I included a screen shot of the receipt" Hit private for picture and send.

Rover will NOT be involved in damage to your property, so its 100% up to you to seek reimbursement from owner. All the owners I've had where their dog damaged something or needed extra supplies volunteered to pay me back.

Keep in mind even the BEST behaved dog can act differently with someone else. I'm curious as to the age and size of dogs. Typically older or smaller dogs have a harder time with it...

I would ask the client for reimbursement. You can phrase it in terms of destruction to property (assuming you're boarding), and that you're trying to avoid it. Also let the owner know that the dog may have more ailments than she previously knew about. Then she can also keep the wraps for her own home if wanted/needed.

Rover suggests talking with the client first, but above all they will help you if you can't get it from the client. After all, that's what the fees are for right?
