Prioritizing schedule - when a number of clients want the same 2 hour time frame, how do you prioritize the client order? Dog age (pup vs mature dog); loyalty of client; physical location?

Most clients want 11-1 - some clients will not be walked in that time frame due to travel time etc. how do I determine what order I visit my clients or who gets the time they asked for?

While I ask for a two hour time frame for weekly walking clients, none of them have the same time frame. I have 11:00-1:00, 11:30-1:30, 12:00-2:00, and a 1:00-3:00 currently. If you feel like you're spending too much time driving or missing out on mid-day walks due to drive time between clients, perhaps look into decreasing your radius so that you can fit more walks into your time frame. Fortunately for me, I have a couple clients who only need M, W,F, some that only need T,TH, and just one who needs M-F. When I receive a new recurring walking request, I inform them of the time frame I would have available, and if that works for them great, otherwise I apologize and archive. I wouldn't accept so many clients that you're having to turn down repeat customers.

These are not new clients, I am only accept requests for repeat clients. All of my clients live in the same small town as I do. The problem is that I have Drs and nurses that use to have afternoon shifts that are now on day shifts. 2 in particular that now would like noonish visits. So I guess, I keep my other clients on the same time and then add the others that need a change onto the end of my time

Ah, I see. Well, since that change in their schedule was unforeseeable to you, I agree with what you plan to do. I'd calculate drive times to see what time I could be there as close to the time they've requested and offer to see if that would work for them.

Thanks. I've thought too hard on this, but once it was in print and with your input, it's more logical than I made it. I'm too much of a pleaser😉 Thanks again
