I contracted a flea infestation from a Rover dog and want the owner held responsible. How do I proceed?

I went for a meet & greet and the owner told me the dog was "itchy." I really thought nothing of it until I started feeling itchy and saw a "rash" appear all over my body within a few hours of me being at their home. I knew it was fleas and I knew the owner had to have been aware of this and deceptively did not tell me. I must have also brought them home with me because I continued to get bitten and am still being bitten several days later. I saw a doctor and they confirmed it was flea bites. I have a kitten who takes flea prevention medication, but my vet said that it is still possible for him to contract the fleas and the fleas could live in my home for several months even if they do not infect my kitten as new eggs hatch. The vet also told me that many people have to have a pest controller fumigate in order to rid their homes.

I want to hold the owner responsible for my doctor's bill, the cost of fumigating my home, and lost income due to the fact that I cannot be around any other pets until the situation is mitigated, but I'm aftraid that even reaching out to them will cause them to post a negative review on my profile.

What should I do?

Well they can't post a negative review unless you've already booked with them... simply doing a meet n greet does not give them the ability to write a review. you could always reach out and ask them to pay though they probably won't
