Why does my dog wipe his bum on the floor?

Your dog is most likely having anal gland issues. He/she can't release them on their own. I would see a vet.

Agree with above comment. Are you referring to when a dog drags their butt across the floor? Probably needs its anal glands drained....it's a very common procedure done at the vet. Most dogs only need it done 1-2 times a year, some require it a lot more than that. It's not expensive.
