I am doing my first dog boarding visit with 2 dogs, I usually do day care where I can start the visit in the rover cards. This is not an option for dog boarding. How do I "start" the visit and send the owner updates?
Boarding does not require you to use the Rover card or any other form of monitoring. Boarding starts when the pet is dropped off and you keep in touch with the owner via the app or via your computer. You can send messages and pics via those means.
On a first visit, I would definitely message the owner at a minimum of daily to let them know how their pet is doing, getting acclimated to the new surroundings and telling them what you've all done during the day. I would also send some pics on a daily basis. It is important to have great communications with the owner for all concerned and it doesn't take a lot of time to fill them in on how their pet is doing. If there are special instructions, be sure to let them know Fido received his meds or whatever that day so they don't worry and he's eating and getting along with others.
