When staying overnight how many hours are included?

When asked to stay the entire day, overnight and through the next day what should I expect to be paid for?

House sitting is for up to 24 hours of care:

It should be considered a premium service because you are not only uprooting yourself to stay at someone else's home to watch their pet, but also providing some security for their home. it should cost more than boarding or a couple of drop-in visits.

The 24-hour clock starts ticking when you arrive.

However, not all sitters conform to Rover's guidelines. Talk to your clients and ask what they really need. Some will want you there overnight with check-ins on the pet during the day. You should discuss with the client if you can leave the home to care for other dogs, especially if you have regular walk clients or drop-ins booked.

As an independent contractor, you have the ability to do whatever you'd like. Just be sure your profile accurately describes the scope of the services you offer clients here on Rover.

P.S. If a client asked for all day, overnight and another day, I would probably charge for two whole days of care, depending on what time I had to arrive and would expect to leave.

My house sitting charge covers 24 hours, from the time I get out of the car to the time I get in the car to come home. I move into the client's home during the stay, using it as my base of operations. After discussing my schedule with the owner prior to booking, I come and go during the day if needed, but I'm always in the client home from dusk to dawn.

If there is a big difference in time between start and finish, i.e. arrive at 9 am and depart at 7 pm, I will charge a daycare fee for that last day. Anything over 12 hours gets another night of house sitting charged.
