Does Rover charge an extra fee for additional dogs?

My rate is $20 a night. I had someone request me to watch their 2 dogs for 3 nights but the total is coming to $135. That divided by 3 nights is $45. Where is the extra $5 a night coming from in their cost?

Is one of their dogs under 12 months of age? I noticed on your profile that you have a Puppy Rate of $25. That would make sense why their nightly total is coming to $45 instead of $40.

Actually both of the dogs are above 12 months old so they are not considered puppies. So that rate was not including any sort of puppy rate. The amount is showing correctly now so I suppose the person could have updated the age of their dog.

The calculations for the fee are based strictly on the rates you have listed in your profile. So the extra $5, like Hillary said, is from your puppy rate.

It's probably from their booking fee. You can set your rate for additional dogs too

Hello

Rover allows you to create your own business and set your own rates. If you would click this link to your profile:

For each service you offer, you will see and click a set of blue words ‘Additional Rates' You can see if there is a rate here, if you would like to offer one, you can enter your desired rate for each service If not, delete the amount Click 'Save & Continue' at bottom of page

Here is a link on how to edit rates as well:

If you are using the APP:

Open APP and Click ‘Triple Line Icon’ upper left and Select ‘Find a Sitter’ Find and click on your own profile and click ‘Pencil Icon’ upper right Click ‘Rates’ For each service, you offer, click the blue set of words ‘Additional Rates’ Here you will see areas to enter your desired rates you wish to offer Click ‘Save’ at the bottom

You can always review and modify their selection and cost. Many times, new clients are also new to rover and learning to navigate through the app, they're inquiring about the service but are essentially needing to request a booking and choosing one of your services. I always like to review their booking of what they chose and correct or adjust as needed. It may have been as simple as them choosing a puppy service of yours rather than standard.

I personally charge $15 extra for each additional dog.
