Tablet just for Rover app?

We recently had some issues with people not paying for our services. After discussing with Rover support the suggestion is to not take anyone's pets without having a confirmed booking so the funds are already in play.

Since we have a lot of 'emergency' type bookings getting made we'd like to have a tablet in house to allow for folks to do a quick and easy on the spot booking. I had a couple old tablets floating around which apparently don't support current versions of the http://Rover.com app and have a hard time displaying the mobile website. Now we're in the market for something.

What would the community at large suggest for an inexpensive tablet just to use for booking? I was thinking the Amazon Fire for $50 would be a great fit, if it's supported.

I use my phone. Would there be any reason that they couldn't use theirs? How are they contacting you? Are they just showing up on your doorstep?

As soon as they said they were on their way, I'd create a new stay for them and send it. The stay request arrives as quickly as a text message AND IT ARRIVES ON THEIR PHONE (for almost everyone). By the time they arrived it would only take less than a second to hit Accept on their phone when they were arriving and dropping off. With a tablet or device, each user would need to log out completely for the next user. You may run into the problem of them saying they don't remember their log-in credentials, as it's not something they are regularly asked from their phone. Besides, the stay request is already on their phone. Going forward, for those who you couldn't get payment from, I would increase the amount of the next stay to cover what wasn't paid for from the previous stay and tell them, "I'm sorry, but I cannot watch Fido until you are caught up". Once, I could almost understand but if it's become a habit then...
