Why is my dog throwing up?
My dog has been throwing up all day and I think I should take him to the vet! How do I tell if this is an emergency or if it will just pass?

Could your dog have gotten into anything he shouldn't have? If he could have gotten into toxins, or non-food items like rocks, sticks, clothing, chew toys etc. he should be seen by a vet. It could also be due to stress, or even food or treats that he isn't used to. You could try withholding all food (and water if he is not able to keep water down) for 24 hours. Then give him something bland like boiled rice and boiled chicken, or lean ground beef - 1 part meat and 2 parts rice. If the vomiting persists after that, you do need to take him to the Doctor.
