Business License?
I had animal control stop by and ask if we where boarding dogs. Saying I need a license to run a business. Do any of you hold a license through your city?

Licensing requirements vary by city or state. If your Animal Control said you needed a business license, then you very well might. Call or look online for the municipal/state code and see what it exactly says. Sometimes it depends on the number of animals. Sometimes it can be only one.
Another important factor may be zoning laws. It may or may not be permitted to operate such a business in your residence at all.
I live in Texas, and I do not need to hold a license for owning a business, or for my "kennel" unless I am breeding dogs.
