Is posting on Craigslist safe?

I'm a new sitter, and I'm wondering if its worth it to advertise my profile on Craigslist. How secure is it? Is it worth it?

Craigslist is a mine field! You may get lucky and find some clients, or you may get nothing but SPAM. I tired CL for several months when I first started on Rover with zero results so I stopped. Visit your local pet friendly businesses and drop off some business cards and post flyers on bulletin boards, I believe this works a lot better than CL

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to make some business cards and drop them off at my local beauty salons.

Another place I have handed out cards at is our local pet 'gatherings' and adoption events such as our annual Petpalooza held in June at a local park with trick dog shows and vendors! And definitely keep some in your purse or wallet to give to anyone you meet who has a dog!

I sometimes post on CL but I give my rover profile site so they go to that to check me out. I don't allow any responses to go to my email.

Welcome to Rover!

I think it's safe, or at least not less safe than if the client found you through the Rover site. It's just a way to expand your reach. The client still goes to the site and books you through Rover. Follow the protocol (do a meet and greet) and follow common sense safety precautions, just like you would do otherwise.

Thanks! I was worried that via Craigslist, I would have to give up personal information to strangers.
