Pricing for birds along with dog, cat, chincilla?

I had an inquiry about a what I would charge for sitting for 1 dog, 1 cat, 4 birds, 1 Chancilla. Any suggestions? Would you charge per bird/per animal OR a bundle price? Suggestions appreciated.

I agree with Shannon, it all depends on the amount of care required for each animal. I have a $5 charge for cats, so I would definitely add that to my charge. If it were me, if the birds were low maintenance I would probably just charge my cat fee that would cover all 4 of them. If they are high maintenance, I would charge my additional dog fee which is $10 less than my rate for dog #1. For the chinchilla, same as the birds - low maintenance = $5, high maintenance = extra dog fee.

A bundle price for the other animals would be easier to explain and charge. It all depends on the level of care needed. For low maintenance, I would probably charge my extra dog fee to cover everyone besides the dog. For high maintenance, 2 extra dog fees to cover everyone.

I would charge based on the work involved. If all 4 birds are together in the same cage and eat together, then their care would take less time than if they were all separate, and you needed to clean 4 cages and feed 4 different birds. As far as how much to charge for all the animals, that's up to you.

If it were me, I would charge my base price for the dog, my additional animal price for each on the cat and the chinchilla, and my additional animal price for all the birds together (if they were in one cage). If the birds are all separate, I most likely wouldn't charge 4x my addl' pet price - probably I would just charge for another 2 addl' animals, since most birds don't need involved care.
